Family Member Scholarship
Two $500 scholarships are available to family members (children, step-children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, siblings, and legal wards) of MGEC members (Regular, Associate, and Life Members; not Fair Share). Students who are entering their junior or senior year in college and are pursuing a degree in an engineering or land surveying field may apply. If awarded, the student would receive the scholarship money as a reimbursement after providing MGEC with proof of tuition payment.
HOW To apply for the Family Member Scholarship:
The student should submit a brief letter which describes their goals and field of study. The letter should also include 1) whether they are entering their junior or senior year, 2) name and relationship to the MGEC member (i.e., child, grandchild, etc.), 3) student's contact information, and 4) a copy of the most recent transcript.
Connie Minetor Memorial Scholarship
In 2002, MGEC’s board announced the initiation of the member-only scholarship program. The Connie Minetor Memorial Scholarship for MGEC Members is named for the late Connie Minetor, MGEC's first female President (1997/98) and first President from MPCA. It was established to provide help to members seeking to attain a degree or advanced degree in engineering or land surveying, or seeking additional work-related training. Up to $1,000 may be awarded to one MGEC Member (not Fair Share or Associate). Current Board Members are not eligible to apply. Eligible members may apply for the scholarship more than once. If awarded, you would receive the scholarship as a reimbursement after providing proof of payment for the training or course(s).
HOW To apply for the Connie Minetor Memorial Scholarship:
Submit a letter of no more than 200 words stating your goals and describing the educational purpose for the scholarship, along with some information on the education or training itself.
