Introductions were made for incoming 2019 Director Laura Lyons and Administration Assistant Kari Torkelson.
Special thanks given to both departing Directors Scott Knowles and Ken Hansen. Both had many years of service to MGEC. Thank you both for your service!
Fair share/Constitution – MGEC wants a dues level for potential members who do not want to become full members. We called this level a “supporting fair share participant”. MMB opposed this name given since it had “fair share” within it. MGEC will change the name of this level member to “Supporting Member”. A supporting member will continue to pay 85% of a full membership. Because of this change, the constitution must be edited to reflect the new name. A meeting is scheduled for Friday December 21, 2018.
Lobbying – Planning meetings with legislators. Dana will call Rich Kadjaski and request his attendance at the next board meeting.
- Executive Directors report – Dana Wheeler
Building update – Association dues increased from $228 to $235 per unit. MGEC has 2 units. New tenant signed on and a potential new tenet could possibly sign on soon. Painting is being completed. Should be done by Christmas.
IT – Increased prices; $25 per computer or $142 per month. $6 per e-mail.
Membership – 1002 full members, 104 non-contributing represented, 50 associates.
Grievance update – The time keeping discrepancy in MnDOT D3 should be going away by January 31, 2019.
Toy for Tots – A member suggested that MGEC contribute. No action taken.
Membership cards – A new card will be made with levels of membership on it.
