Secretary’s Report (Mike)

President’s Report (Corey M.)

1. Nothing additional to report at this time. 

Executive Director’s Report (Tony)

1. We were notified that our non-profit status has been revoked after 3 years of failing to file tax returns. The returns have all been filed since we discovered this in May and Jim expects to resolve the issue without serious harm.
2. The MnDOT grievance step 1 was heard on September 9^th. We expect a response in early November.
3. MDH is looking at roughly 100 layoffs due to funding cuts, subject to change. No MGEC members appear to be affected at this time.
4. One of our building tenants may need to reduce or eliminate their space. If this happens, another present tenant will likely take the space.
5. Reported leave balances for Tony and Donna as of 10/17.
6. Reported on status of the overtime “overpayment” issue with MnDOT. MnDOT has not responded to MGEC correspondence to date.

Finance Committee (Wes & Tony)

1. Presented profit and loss report for September.

Bargaining Committee (Benton)

1. The last session of bargaining was held October 6^th and the next session will be held October 30^th.
2. A total economic package is expected from MMB at the next session.
3. The team has reached tentative agreements (TA’s) on most of the non-economic issues to date.

Membership Committee (Donna)

1. Working to contact new hires to encourage membership in MGEC.
2. Reported on membership numbers and conversion rates.
3. Presented breakdown of membership rates by job class and agency.
4. Need representatives for MnDOT in Central Office and Bemidji.
5. Reminders to vote for Board elections will go out on Monday, November 3^rd.
6. Tentatively scheduled the December Board meeting for December 8^th. This in-person meeting will be held at MGEC conference room.

Vice President’s Report (Benton)

1. Nothing further to report.

Past President’s Report (Fernando)

1. Not present at meeting.

Other Items

1. Blake provided an update on SEGIP issues.
   • It has been determined that ex-spouses will have to pay taxes on insurance benefits received. This affects roughly 40 people none of which are MGEC members.
   • It is estimated that 2027 premiums will rise approximately 11 ½%.
   • There is a legal plan offered as an option for this year’s open enrollment.
   • Reviewed coverage changes for this upcoming year.
