The MGEC Board Election Results are in. Even though we didn’t have any contested races in this cycle, we wanted to maintain the rhythm of the election cycle for several reasons: we want to make sure people know that they can select MGEC leadership every year; and we want the names and bios of MGEC leadership to be visible via the election process itself.
Pursuant to MGEC’s Constitution, nominations for Board seats were open in September. The ballots were electronically distributed only to full MGEC members in October, and the voting window closed the same day as the Federal and State elections, in this case Tuesday, November 5th. At that point, the MGEC Tellers Committee reviewed the returns. We now transmit them to you. Thank you to Bruce Henningsgaard, Blake Nelson and Corey Mathisen for your work.
Changes to the board take effect January 1, 2025 which include:
- Corey Mathisen (MDH) ascending from Vice President to President,
- Benton Campbell (MPCA) becoming Vice President,
- Michael Rude (Military Affairs) as Secretary.
Newly elected Directors include:
- Brandon JB Nelson (MnDOT)
- Luke Schuette (MnOPS)
- Mark Trogstad-Isaacson (MnDOT)
- Hunter Vraa (MnDOT)
Even though the 2024 MGEC election cycle is complete, you can still make your voice heard. Consider attending MGEC Board meetings and running for the Board next year. MGEC is powered by its membership and it’s never too late – or too soon – to get involved.
