Where is MGEC on negotiating?
MGEC elected to start our negotiations later than usual in 2019; we will first be meeting with State negotiators in September. Your MGEC insurance team has been actively participating in the early insurance bargaining. This gives your MGEC negotiating team more time to prepare and allows us to observe and react to the negotiation process between the State and the other unions. Contract Negotiations Underway; Member Survey Coming Soon
You may have already heard about the State meeting with other unions. This year, MGEC is having later meetings than usual with the State in an effort to reduce the time and effort spent on our own contract negotiation- making our MGEC bargaining team time more efficient and effective. MGEC is actively participating in the Insurance Bargaining portion of our 2019-2021 contract with the State of MN. Updates will be posted on our website soon.
