This class is offered with the support of partners: State of Minnesota and the Minnesota Association for Professional Development (MAPD)
Location: MGEC Office, 5874 Blackshire Path, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Lower Level Conference Room
The P.E. Exam Review course is designed for employees who will be taking the P.E. Civil Engineering exam in October or April. The class meets afternoons, typically on Tuesday afternoons, once a week for eight sessions and is completed 1-2 weeks before the PE exam date. The course is typically offered in both spring and fall. MGEC members may be able to take the course without taking vacation time by utilizing the Employee Initiated Training section of Article 4, Section 5, of the MGEC contract. The instructors are volunteers from the MGEC membership. Topics reviewed are Geotechnical (materials, soils, foundations); Hydraulics; Environmental; Traffic; Structures; and Construction.
If members are interested in organizing P.E. exam review courses for other disciplines or organizing F.E. exam review courses, please begin searching for members who would be willing to teach the relevant material. All the teachers for the P.E. Civil Exam Review classes are volunteers organized by MGEC Civil Engineers, so additional volunteers are needed for MGEC to begin offering other exam review courses. The first class was in 1993 and has been held every year since.
