The voting window for the MGEC membership to affirm or deny the Tentative Agreement between the state and the union has now closed. The MGEC Teller Committee has met to review the methodology and results of the vote. The MGEC membership has approved the Tentative Agreement.
Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) has been notified of the approval, and we will now work with them to implement the new benefits of the contract. We will pass along the specifics as they are known. We will also communicate the timeline of when backpay to July 1, 2025, will be remitted.
We want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who voted. The MGEC membership is the final authority in accepting or rejecting any tentative agreement. ANY MGEC member can become directly involved in our Board of Directors, our Committees, and our Bargaining Committee. Indeed, this year’s negotiations were powered by your peers who also work in State service; they brought their experiences and solutions directly to the employer and were able to improve our contract as a result.
