This class if offered with the support of partners: State of Minnesota and the Minnesota Association for Professional Development (MAPD)
Location: MGEC Office, 5874 Blackshire Path, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Lower Level Conference Room
The course is designed for employees who will be taking the P.E. Civil Engineering exam in October or April. The class meets afternoons, typically on Monday afternoons, once a week for eight sessions and is completed 1-2 weeks before the PE exam date. The course is typically offered in both spring and fall. MGEC members may be able to take the course without taking vacation time by utilizing the Employee Initiated Training section of Article 4, Section 5 of the MGEC contract. The instructors are volunteers from the MGEC membership.
Topics reviewed are Geotechnical (materials, soils, foundations); Hydraulics; Environmental; Traffic, Structures, Construction.
- The class is free for full MGEC and MAPD members.
- Fair shares and other state employees. Fee: $50.
- The course is open to other public and private sector employees who will be sitting for the exam. Fee: $250.
