Range Reassignments

9 November 2022

MMB plans to process the MGEC Range Reassignment for affected job classes the weekend of October 28, effective 10/26/2022 (the first day of the second full pay period following contract ratification, as required by the agreement).  This will place the affected employees on the newly-assigned ranges beginning with the Payroll Period ended 11/8/2022 to be reflected on the paycheck dated 11/18/2022.

For more information check out this link on the MGEC website: https://mgec2023.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Range-Reassignment-Notification-to-MGEC-1.pdf

  • Employees who previously received the supervisor pay differential will continue to receive it until they move to Step A or Step K of their respective ranges.   For example, an employee who was receiving the supervisor differential as an Engineer Principal which was previously assigned to Range 11, and is reassigned to step A of Range 12, their supervisor differential would end.
  • If an Engineer Principal has been at the top step (K) of Range 11 for at least one year, they would be eligible to move to the top step (K) of Range 12, and their supervisor differential would end upon movement to step K.
  • If an Engineer Principal was at step G of Range 11, they would move to step F of Range 12 with the range reassignment.  Their rate of pay remains the same, and they would continue to receive the supervisor differential until they reached the top step (K) of Range 12.  Once they reach the top step of Range 12, step K, their supervisor differential would end.
  • The intent is that affected employees will have either the range reassignment OR the supervisor differential; as soon as an employee qualifies for the reassignment the supervisor differential will end.  The intent is to not have both.
