MGEC Board Recommends Tentative Agreement
On Monday, January 27, 2020, the MGEC Board discussed the tentative agreement at great length. The majority of the board voted to send the contract language to the membership with a recommendation to accept the contract. The board determined that additional information will be sent to the membership in an effort to help members determine their own vote. MGEC and the State have reached a Tentative Agreement
On January 22, 2020, after the second day of mediation the MGEC Contract Negotiations Team entered into a tentative agreement for the 2019-2021 MGEC contract. This was the ninth total day of negotiations. Shortly after 6PM, and after significant conversations among the team, the Bureau of Mediation Services (BMS) mediator, and our attorney; as well as several contract language exchanges, MGEC and the State agreed on contract language and compensation for this contract cycle. Welcome to 2020
Dear all Members and Represented Non-Members, MGEC accomplished a lot in 2019 and I am hopeful for a successful 2020. I would like to echo the sentiment that now Past President Derrick recently shared in his end of year message.
