Floating Holiday
Employees denied the Juneteenth Holiday of 2022 shall be allowed an additional floating holiday. This was effective October 4, 2022, but the employer is just getting around to having agency payroll staff enter the additional floating holiday in the payroll system to make it available for employees to use. MMB anticipates that agencies will have added the floating holiday in their system during the November 8th pay period. Backpay
Employees should have received backpay for periods from 7/1/21 - 6/30/22 and 7/1/22 through the pay period ending 10-25-22. In some cases, employees believe they have found errors in the amount of backpay. In those instances, the employee should contact their payroll staff to address the error. Range Reassignments
MMB plans to process the MGEC Range Reassignment for affected job classes the weekend of October 28, effective 10/26/2022 (the first day of the second full pay period following contract ratification, as required by the agreement). This will place the affected employees on the newly-assigned ranges beginning with the Payroll Period ended 11/8/2022 to be reflected on the paycheck dated 11/18/2022. PE Review Class changes
MGEC will no longer be providing a PE exam review course. MGEC started offering the PE exam review class in the early 1990s; this long standing tradition was successful for almost 30 years! This change is the result of upcoming retirements for some instructors and other instructors balancing many responsibilities (work, children, etc.). The exams have been transitioning to an online basis and it’s expected that all will be online within the next couple of years.
